About VCSA DFW Chapter

The Vietnamese Culture and Science Association Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter (VCSA-DFW) was founded in Irving Texas on November 1st, 1996. The DFW Chapter has grown to be one of the leading Vietnamese American organizations in the DFW metroplex with more than 35 active members. The first Camp Len Duong was hosted by VCSA-DFW in 1997 in Fort Worth. Camp Len Duong has been one of the core programs of VCSA in providing leadership training and networking environment for all young campers.
VCSA promotes excellence in education, leadership and skills development through culture and science. Our organization encourages multi-generational and cross-cultural collaborations. We foster civic participation in the mainstream and Vietnamese America.

Phân Hội Văn Hóa Khoa Học Việt Nam tại Dallas/Fort Worth (VHKHVN-DFW) được thành lập tại Irving, Texas vào ngày 1 tháng 11 năm 1996 bởi 4 gia đình thành viên đồng sáng lập. Địa bàn hoạt động của Phân Hội VHKHVN-DFW bao gồm các thành phố lân cận của 2 thành phố chính là Dallas và Fort Worth. Chương trình đầu tiên của Phân Hội VHKHVN-DFW là Hosting Trại Lên Đường 1997, một trong các chương trình chính của Hội Văn Hóa Khoa Học Việt Nam vẫn còn tiếp tục hàng năm cho đến bây giờ. Trọng tâm trong các sinh hoạt của Phân Hội VHKHVN-DFW là tạo một môi trường đa diện cho mọi tầng lớp người Mỹ gốc Việt trao đổi ý kiến, chia xẻ kinh nghiệm, và tham dự vào việc xây dựng một cộng đồng Việt Nam vững mạnh tại hải ngoại. Ngoài ra, Phân Hội VHKHVN-DFW còn cổ võ cho tinh thần tự hào dân tộc trong các sinh hoạt để duy trì và thăng tiến các bản sắc, đặc thù của dân tộc Việt Nam.

PRESIDENT - Ky-Lan (Jerry) Dao
Ky-Lan (Jerry) Dao

Mr. Dao is Senior Staff Engineer with Lockheed Martin company. He joined VCSA in 1997 and has strong interest in Vietnamese culture and education for Vietnamese Americans. He has been one of the key organizers in many cultural and educational events in the DFW areas for Vietnamese Americans such as Tet celebration, Mid-Autumn festivals, PSAT tutoring, Career Orientation seminar. His vision is to build up a strong leadership in our future generation who will not only be capable to work together to serve our Vietnamese American community but also to become leaders in both social and political mainstream areas.

TREASURER/SECRETARY - Thuy-An Nguyen-Don
Thuy-An Nguyen Don

Ms. Nguyen-Don attended the first Len Duong camp in 2001 and she has been an active member since then. She is a CPA working in the corporate tax area and has strong interest in the cultural art performance and education areas. She currently spends most of her volunteering time to do accounting work for a Vietnamese Buddhist temple in Fort Worth. Thuy-An was honored as Outstanding Member of VCSA-DFW in 2005.

VICE PRESIDENT – INTERNAL AFFAIRS - Van (Truong) Tran
Van (Truong) Tran

Mr. Tran joined VCSA-DFW in 2003 after attending Camp Len Duong in Huntsville Texas of that year and has been an key member of the VCSA-DFW team since then. He is an engineering working for Lockheed Martin in Dallas and has a strong interest in helping young Vietnamse-American preserving the traditional Vietnamese cultures. In 2007, he was selected as Outstanding Member of VCSA-DFW.

VICE PRESIDENT – PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT - Anh Tran
Anh Tran

Mr. Tran has been one of the founders of the of VCSA-DFW chapter in 1997. He was later appointed as president of this chapter, a position he served for more than 14 years. He has helped to build the DFW chapter of VCSA to become one of the most reputable Vietnamese American organizations in DFW with its contribution to the Vietnamese community in many areas, covering charity, education, cultural, and entertainment. He strongly believe the importance of educating younger Vietnamese generation on how to learn, preserve and uphold traditional Vietnamese family and cultural values, and to engage in mainstream activities. In his latest contribution to the Vietnamese American community, Anh Tran holds a weekly popular cultural program on Saigon Radio 890AM in the Dallas Ft Worth area. He was selected as Outstanding Member of VCSA-DFW in 2010.

VICE PRESIDENT – PUBLIC RELATIONS - Thi (Jackie) Nguyen
Thi (Jackie) Nguyen

Ms. Nguyen is a Senior Auditor with the U.S. Department of Treasury. She came to the U.S. in 1980 and is currently residing in Murphy, Texas. With a keen appreciation for Vietnamese heritage, Thi believes that culture preservation is the key to personal fulfillment and improving the quality of our community. Since joining VCSA-DFW in 2008, Thi has been passionately promoting VCSA-DFW within the Vietnamese community as well as the mainstream.
